About Beena Raghavendran

Beena Raghavendran graduated from the University of Maryland in 2015 with a double major in journalism and government & politics. She’s a summer intern on The Seattle Times’ metro desk, and will start at the Star Tribune in Minneapolis this fall as an education reporter. Beena previously interned with the Star Tribune in Minneapolis and in Washington, D.C., with McClatchy Newspapers’ Washington Bureau and Cox Media Group in Ohio. She was raised just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, but went to undergrad in Maryland partially to be near D.C. and fuel her love for all things political. At Maryland, she was a senior staff writer and editor at The Diamondback, the college’s independent student daily.
